My practice conceptually echoes and honours textile traditions, engages historical and theoretical concerns about human existence, uses textile and fibre such as wood, paper, and string, is sometimes three-dimensional, and employs stitch. I employ cloth as metaphor for the metaphysical. Seriality drives my work as visual artist and writer. My fifth book of poetry is Philosopher at the Skin Edge of Being (Signature Editions, 2013).
My works have been exhibited in public galleries in Canada and the US since 1979. My bibliography includes Craft Perception and Practice: A Canadian Discourse, Volumes 1 & 2.
