Sheila hand- and machine-stitches natural textiles to make clothing, quilts and smaller decorative pieces. Many fine teachers have formed and influenced what she does, and built upon her life-long love of textile, colour and design.
The built and natural environments, her observation of people, and the creative spark of others, inspire her. Her drive is to create beautiful things for the pure joy of creating; creativity is her oxygen. She is a maker of things.
Sheila co-led the creation and installation of 27 indigo-dyed quilts for the parish hall walls of Christ Church Cathedral, Vancouver. Click here to link to the project website.
Sheila served as the the BC+Yukon representative for Surface Design Association in 2015-16.
