Katie Stein Sather
Retirement has given Katie the opportunity to move beyond a solid utilitarian sewing background of 4-H and garments. Her self-directed course of study has included watercolour and acrylic painting, art history and much art design and surface design.
Katie’s love of nature and landscape is evident in the themes of her pieces. When it is too cold and rainy to be paddling or gardening, Katie spends her time in her studio, translating natural imagination into fabric art.
Katie is a member of Fibre Arts Network (FAN), a Western Canada fibre group and participates in their shows nationally and internationally. She is also a member of the Studio Art Quilt Association, and the Surface Design Association.
