Constance Chapman works closely with her camera playing with line and textures. Her pieces are built with dyes, pigments, discharge or photo transfer on linen, cotton or hemp. She continues to experiment with materials and techniques introducing different weights of paper, fabric and even found objects into her pieces.
At the moment she is enjoying getting back to honoring the stitch with more machine or hand stitching.
After taking the Foundation Year at Emily Carr School of Art and Design, Connie graduated from the Capilano College Textile Art program. Workshops and showing her work has kept her focused and a part of the larger art community.
In 2013 she received the Joy Stockdale, “Best in Show” award for her piece in “Connections”, the SDA Members Show in San Antonio, Texas.
